Penn State Meet Info

With our first travel meet to Penn State University quickly approaching, we would like to start the planning process. We will be hosting a mandatory swimmer and parents meeting on Monday, April 23rd at 6:15pm at Poquessing Middle School. If you and/or your swimmer are unable to attend, you must contact Coach Murphy to arrange an in person meeting.

We have blocked off 15 rooms at The Atherton Hotel for this meet. Here are the important facts:
Link to the Hotel:
Here is the link to make online reservations with the Neshaminy CORE group
You may also reserve by phone at 814-231-2100 or 800-832-0132. You need to tell them you are part of the Neshaminy CORE group to get the special rate and to be part of our group
It is $109 per night plus taxes and it is $8 per night for parking.
Individual reservations must be changed or cancelled by 4pm the day of arrival or it is subject to full charge. There is a $50 fee for early departure.
Check in is 3pm. If an early check in is desired please contact the hotel. Check out is 12pm but they can hold bags after that time.
They will only hold the rooms until May 15th.
If you are not interested in staying at The Atherton Hotel, there is a list of other hotels on the meet sheet attached to this email.

One item of importance we want discuss now is the scheduling of this meet. If you are swimming in Session 3 on Saturday and/or Session 6 on Sunday, warm-up starts at 6:30AM (this applies to everyone 13 years old and over). This means we will be meeting at the pool by no later than 6:15AM. If you are only swimming on one specific day, we highly suggest you get a hotel room for the night before as it is a 3 hour drive from this area.

Again, we cannot reiterate enough the importance of attending this mandatory meeting on Monday, April 23rd. We will be going over everything from traveling up to Penn State University, to breakfasts, to items you should have for an outdoor USA swim meet. If you are unable to make this meeting, please contact Coach Murphy as soon as possible to arrange an in person meeting.
